Daniela Mouw is the Artistic Director and Founder of Flamenco Sonora. Daniela began her journey into Flamenco as a seamstress, sewing costumes for local flamencos through funding from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. "Ele! Flamenco" was the first resulting agency created by Daniela to provide affordable costumes to local performing arts groups in Durham, NC.
Dancing soon followed and Daniela then moved to Tucson, AZ where she graduated from the University of Arizona with a completed Thesis in Flamenco Dance & Performance under the direction of the Stevie Eller School of Dance. From this Thesis was born, "Flamenco Sonora", named from the inspirational noisiness of the Sonoran Desert.
Receiving multiple Grants as a result of this project, Daniela continues the project in Jacksonville, FL where she moved to attend law school. Daniela continues to study dance, teach, and invest her time creating outreach projects and work towards creating a vibrant Flamenco Community in North Florida.
