About Me:
Philip Hemmo holds a B.M. and an M.M. in classical guitar performance. His academic teaching includes a four year tenure as Instructor of Guitar at the University of Arizona, and Instructor of Music at Pima Community College. As a performer, Mr. Hemmo is in demand. His classical guitar concert schedule has taken him throughout the US and Mexico. He is the author of of Beginning Classroom Guitar: A Musician's Approach (Wadsworth, 1998; 2nd Ed 2003). Mr. Hemmo's students include international competition winners, performing artists, and current University Instructors.

Since 2000 he has owned and opperated one of Tucson's most popular music stores Southwest Guitar Studio (www.southwestguitar.com). This boutique shop specializes in acoustic guitars as well as instruction.

He has also toured with the following bands: Precious, The Diagonals, and currenly Mozart's Sister.
